We're that much closer to Evangelion Kart. This week, it's absolutely incredible how many awesome things got announced at Sony's State of Play and Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest Showcase. Among those announcements and reveals, are God of War Laufey, Stellar Blade Blood Rain, and Final Fantasy VII Revelation. And those three are just a small sample of an endless barrage of premieres, updates, and gameplay from some of the coolest things the industry has cooking up. There's Star Wars, Wolverine, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and even Cuphead. And, no joke, that's still just scratching the surface. Not E3 is back and it delivered. That's the look of a new No Man's Sky update. This week, we've got impressions of the first few hours of IO Interactive's 007: First Light. What happens when you take James Bond, throw in a little Uncharted, and a little Hitman: World of Assassination? Apparently, you get one of the year's finest AAA offerings, because this game is amazing. We've also got a whole rundown on Bubsy 4D, now that the full game is out. And with a second Requiem playthrough completed, we've got a lot of talk on what works and what doesn't in the latest from Resident Evil. And there's some interesting news this week, on the lead-up to June's big slate of showcases. Check out the show on BlueSky @MarkersOnTheMap.

Me and Jenny go together like Plok and Rayman. This week, we're taking a big look at the start of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, the latest from Traveller's Tales' Lego series. With refined, Arkham-style combat and the most detailed characters to date, it feels like a whole new era for the delightful franchise. We're also back with more Requiem as Leon and Grace's journey continues, namely in Raccoon City's RPD. Motorslice is here as well, with some gripes coming in on the game's third big level. We also delve into the Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition that dropped earlier this year and came with its own set of huge complaints. And in news, the end of Destiny 2 has been announced. Check out the show on BlueSky @MarkersOnTheMap.

We've also got an early look at the beginning few areas of Motorslice, a surprising new indie game with a lot of charm. Check out the show on BlueSky @MarkersOnTheMap.

Yes, we found it. After all this time, we've located something we've searched for and talked about for ages. So we're spending a huge part of the episode discussing the lead-up to this amazing game. After that, we're back on Resident Evil Requiem with a fresh start as Grace and Leon take their early steps into Capcom's unforgiving survival horror masterpiece. After that, we've begun curating islands in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, a game that lets you do just about anything, in a very un-Nintendo fashion. This week, we've even got news as major new announcements were made, including a new Star Fox and a fresh look at Stranger Than Heaven. Check out the show on BlueSky @MarkersOnTheMap.

Episode 243: Rougelikeness to Everness
Tuesday May 05, 2026
Tuesday May 05, 2026
It's always eclipse-y on Carcosa. This week, we're taking a big look at Housemarque's latest AAA rougelike game, Saros. In the followup to Returnal, Arjun Devraj fights his way through a hostile world where environments shift every time he goes out, and time works in mysterious ways. Weapons, modifiers, and a system of balance make each run unique as the secrets of Carcosa's eclipses are revealed. We've also got a look at Neverness to Everness, a game that's got a bunch of style, but an overwhelming amount of unfortunate mechanics. Then we have Bubsy 4D's demo, an update on GTA IV, and some more discussion on Marathon. Check out the show on BlueSky @MarkersOnTheMap.

Tuesday Apr 21, 2026
When the minigame becomes the game. This week, we've got some early impressions of Capcom's Pragmata, the much anticipated new action IP where third-person shooter and hacking minigame gameplay intertwine to make something truly unique. Hugh and Diana take their first steps in the wild journey within the Moon itself as the story beings. We've also got more progress in GTA IV and a big look at a recent full game playthrough of Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, the follow-up to the Nintendo Switch original. It's a pretty great game that does fall into some pitfalls of the genre, but we've got a lot to say. And of course, Marathon continues to be a wild experience. Check out the show on BlueSky @MarkersOnTheMap.

Tuesday Apr 07, 2026

"Singularly inanimate." This week, we're hooked on WikiGacha, the card opening simulator, and we're not complaining, because it's a great alternative to the actual gacha games! After that, it's onto other games, namely Legacy of Kain: Ascendance, the first new entry in the series in over two decades. Can it possibly live up to the hype? The answer may surprise you. We've also got a few updates on Screamer and Super Mario 64 as our individual playthroughs continue. Then, we've got more Marathon, as we continue to get better and better at this unforgiving extraction shooter. Check out the show on BlueSky @MarkersOnTheMap.

Tuesday Mar 31, 2026
Unlike the Cryo Archive, Screamer has no chill. This week, we're back at it with more Marathon, including a daring and impossibly lucky escape from the Cryo Archive. After that, we get into some co-op rhythm action with Cadence of Hyrule, Crypt of the Necrodancer's Legend of Zelda-themed spinoff. Then, it's onto Milestone's reboot of Screamer, a racing game so full of gameplay mechanics, it's almost upsetting to describe. There's also a lot of wild gaming news this week, from a devastating shakeup at Epic to unfortunate price hikes from Sony. Check out the show on BlueSky @MarkersOnTheMap.
