Old games and new games - from RPG to FPS, first to third-party, indie to big exclusives, Markers on the Map takes you on a journey through a vast open world where we discuss gaming news and wax lyrical (or sometimes complain) about games we're currently playing, as well as old favorites. With two highly different tastes, we'll take you on a gaming adventure and introduce you to a new favorite, or visit an old friend.

Rock the dragon. First this week, some words and memories on Akira Toriyama and his legacy. For both of us, Dragon Ball is a huge deal, so we have a big discussion at the start. After that, join us for more rants against the current state of battle passes. Then, we get into initial impressions of Helldivers 2, one of the year's biggest surprises so far. Tuesday Mar 05, 2024
The stuff that dreams are made of. This week, the Launch Lineup finally returns with a look at all of the games that came out for Dreamcast back on 9/9/99. Sonic Adventure is there and SoulCalibur is there, but then you've got some real wild releases, like Blue Stinger, Pen Pen TriIceLon, Ready 2 Rumble, and no less than five or six racing games. Throw in your flying sims and multiple football releases and we have a launch lineup that's plentiful, while also still having some pretty great games on it. It's Sega's last console, but its beginning was decent! Check us out on X @MarkersOnTheMap.

This week, we go a little more in-depth with the recent State of Play. Then, we tackle some current goings-on in the game industry, such as the latest in overpriced microtranscations, the good and bad decisions of a few publishers, and a pretty great demo for a game that's definitely going to be swallowed up by the myriad releases happening around it, at least for our little show. The big news cycle continues! Check us out on X @MarkersOnTheMap.

Episode 154: Top 10 Plays of 2023 Part 2
Tuesday Feb 06, 2024
Tuesday Feb 06, 2024
The best of the best. This week, we continue our look at the top 10 games we played last year, with each of our numbers 5 through 1. Co-op delights, RPGs-turned-action spectacles, and a rhythm game that just keeps the hype rolling are just a small taste of this massive episode. Check us out on X @MarkersOnTheMap.

Episode 153: Top 10 Plays of 2023 Part 1
Tuesday Jan 30, 2024
Tuesday Jan 30, 2024
The first part of the moment you've been waiting for. This week, we explore five games each that we loved in 2023 - in true Markers on the Map fashion, these games don't necessarily have to come from 2023. In fact, a few of them are quite old. In this week's numbers ten through six, we've got things like a modern kind of FPS game, a really old racer, a remaster so good it could be a remake, robots, RPGs, rage, and writers. And that's just scratching the surface. Check us out on X @MarkersOnTheMap.

Episode 150: Masters of the Map Reboot
Tuesday Nov 07, 2023
Tuesday Nov 07, 2023
It's time to bring the noise. On the mid-season finale of Markers on the Map, join us on a journey to the year 2005 set up by our newest lore cutscene. We find ourselves in a generation where gaming was different, where hundreds of games dropped constantly, with no DLC or battle passes in sight. Movie tie-ins, platforming collect-a-thons, and the reinvention of first-person shooters - so many sixth generation games to discuss: Smash Bros Melee, Lego Star Wars, Battlefront, Destroy All Humans, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, GTA San Andreas, Metroid Prime 2, and so much more. Seriously, we talk about a record-breaking number of games this time. New episodes of Markers on the Map will return mid-January. Check us out on X @MarkersOnTheMap for information and updates!
